My Girl

I always fall for the scrappy girls, the funky ones, the Idolettes most likely to have a tattoo, or three, or thirty (which could not be more opposite from my own Ladylike persona!): Amy Adams, Melissa McGhee, now Gina Glocksen. (I seem to like an alliterative mongram as well.) They never win, they break my heart, I live to love another day. C'est la vie.

Though I think Simon was unnecessarily cruel (blow me down), he pretty much called it: Gina, a fine singer, was simply outsung by three other girls. But she grew in this competition, she worked hard and paid attention, she got national exposure. I hope it leads to great things for her, because she deserves it.

I'll miss her!

Lady Chardonnay OUT.
